Ardmore Motorcycle Rentals is owned and operated by Samantha Haldane, and Cloud Craig-Smith, who both come from a motorcycle/motorsport background.

Samantha's father Bob Haldane was a successful motorcycle racer in both New Zealand and the Isle of Man. Bob went on to become the local Auckland Yamaha and Ducati dealer. The company is now owned by Chris Haldane - Samantha's older brother. Chris is currently the Auckland Ducati and Suzuki franchise dealer and was also a successful motorcycle racer, winning two New Zealand motorcycle championships, Chris also raced in many other countries including the Isle of Man on a Ducati.

After Bob Haldane retired from motorcycle racing he took up rallying and went on to win the New Zealand Rally Championship for co-drivers 7 times. Samantha followed in Bob’s footsteps becoming the youngest ever person to compete in a World Rally Championship (WRC) event at 16 and continuing on for a further 11 successful years. The combined Haldane family motorsport experience has provided Samantha with an intimate knowledge of our beautiful New Zealand countryside.

Cloud has been a motorcycle enthusiast all his life. Growing up in New Zealand’s beautiful Bay of Islands near Russell. Cloud restored his first classic motorcycle at age 15 which he would ride the 30 km’s of twisting gravel road to school each day. Cloud has competed in many types of motorcycle racing and is currently competing in the Supermoto and Classic motorcycle classes. Cloud has worked as a motorcycle mechanic in both Auckland and London, this experience has provided him the knowledge required to give you the best prepared rental motorcycles you will find anywhere in New Zealand.

Cloud and Samantha live on the 10 acre farm in Ardmore, Auckland, where Samantha grew up, with Samantha's 10 year old son Oscar, Prada their Burmese cat and the new member of the team Baby Enzo who was born 30th November 2007. This is also the location of the motorcycle rental business. Cloud and Samantha have toured New Zealand extensively together and know all the best places to stay, visit and eat. Their goal is to provide you with personalized service, a superior class of motorcycle and the best advice and equipment for your New Zealand motorcycle experience.
